তারিখ : ১৭/০২/২০১৪ ইং বরাবর চেয়ারম্যান, ৬নং দুলালপুর ইউনিয়ন পরিষদ। হােমনা, কুমিল্লা। বিষয় : নলকূপ স্থাপনের জন্য আবেদন। জনাব, যথাযথ সম্মানপূর্বক বিনীত নিবেদন এই যে, আমরা আপনার ইউনিয়নের জয়নগর গ্রামের অধিবাসী। আমাদের গ্রামটি একটি জনবহুল ও বর্ধিষ্ণু গ্রাম। এ গ্রামের লােকসংখ্যা প্রায় দুই হাজার। কিন্তু পরিতাপের বিষয় এই যে, এ গ্রামে পানীয় জলের তেমন সুব্যবস্থা নেই। স্থানীয় প্রাথমিক বিদ্যালয়ের সামনে অবস্থিত গ্রামের একমাত্র নলকূপটি দীর্ঘদিন যাবত পরিত্যাক্ত অবস্থায় আছে। গ্রামে যে দু-চারটি হাজা-মজা পুকুর আছে, সেগুলােও আবর্জনা ও জঞ্জালে পিরপূর্ণ। এমনকি, ফাল্গুন-চেত্র মাসে এগুলোও শুকিয়ে যায়। ফলে গ্রামবাসীদের পানির অভাবে দুঃখের সীমা থাকে না। নিতান্ত বাধ্য হয়ে নদী ও ডােবা থেকে সংগৃহীত দূষিত পানি পান করার ফলে প্রতি বছরই কলেরা, টাইফয়েড, আমাশয় ইত্যাদি মারাত্মক রােগে আক্রান্ত হয়ে এ গ্রামের বহুলােক অকালে মৃত্যুবরণ করে। এমতাবস্থায় সংশ্লিষ্ট কর্তৃপক্ষের নিকট আবেদন, অনতিবিলম্বে উক্ত গ্রামে অন্তত তিনটি নলকুপ স্থাপন করে জনজীবনে শান্তি ও স্বস্তি ফিরিয়ে আনতে মর্জি হয়। বিনীত নিবেদক গ্রামবাসীর প...

মূলভাব :   বিদ্বান ব্যক্তি সর্বত্র সম্মানিত। কিন্তু দুর্জন অর্থাৎ খারাপ প্রকৃতির লােক। বিদ্বান হলেও সে সমাজের দুশমন। সকলেই তাকে ঘৃণা করে। সম্প্রসারিত ভাব :   বিদ্যার মতাে মূল্যবান সম্পদ আর নেই। বিদ্বান ব্যক্তিকে সকলেই সম্মান করে। বিদ্বানের সংস্পর্শে এলে জ্ঞানের আলােয় মন আলােকিত হয়; এতে চরিত্র গঠনের সুযােগ ঘটে। বিদ্যার আলােয় মানুষের জীবনের অজ্ঞানতার অন্ধকার দূর হয়। বিদ্যা মানুষকে প্রকৃত মানুষ হিসেবে গড়ে তুলতে মুখ্য ভূমিকা পালন করে। বিদ্বানের ভূমিকায় সমাজ ও দেশ সমৃদ্ধির আলােয় আলােকিত হয়। বিদ্যার সম্মােহনী শক্তি যেমন ব্যক্তি জীবন থেকে দূর করে সংকীর্ণতা ও কলুষতার অন্ধকার, তেমনি তা সমাজকেও করে প্রগতির আলােয় আলােকিত। কিন্তু বিদ্বান ব্যক্তি যদি দুর্জন। অর্থাৎ খারাপ প্রকৃতির হয়, তবে তার অর্জিত বিদ্যার কোনাে মূল্য থাকে না। সমাজ, দেশ বা জাতি কেউ এদের দ্বারা উপকৃত হয় না। সকলেই তাকে ঘৃণা করে। দুর্জন ব্যক্তি সাপের সাথে তুলনীয়। তার অর্জিত বিদ্যার তুলনা করা চলে সাপের মাথার মণির সাথে। মানুষ সাপকে ভয় করে। কাছে গেলেই জীবননাশ সুনিশ্চিত। প্রাণনাশের ভয়ে কেউ পয়ে মাথার মূল্যবান মা...
